2015 Search for Journalists of the Year
In recognition of excellence in Philippine journalism, The Metrobank Foundation, Inc. and the Probe Media Foundation, Inc. are inviting Filipino journalists from print, broadcast, and online media to join the 2015 Search for Journalists of the Year.
Journalists who have been working in any local, national, or international media organization for at least ten years from January 2004 to December 2014 are qualified to join the search. Interested parties must submit a duly-accomplished nomination form and five stories which have been published or aired within the last ten years (January 2004 to December 2014). Two of these five stories must have been published or aired within the last two years (January 2012 to December 2014). Submitted stories should best match the theme, “Shaping the Nation through Powerful Stories”.
Three awardees will be adjudged as 2015 Metrobank Foundation Journalists of the Year and each of them will be given a P300,000 cash prize and a “Pamukaw” medallion designed by 2011 Metrobank Foundation Prize for achievement in Sculpture awardee Priscillano “Jun” R. Vicaldo. They will also be conferred the title Metrobank Foundation Fellow in Journalism and will be given the opportunity to share their journalistic expertise through a series of lectures in academic institutions nationwide.
Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism Executive Director Malou Mangahas, Philippine Star columnist Jarius Bondoc, and GMA-7 news anchor Jiggy Manicad were Journalists of The Year in 2013.
