3rd Sandra Burton Nieman Fellowship for Filipino Journalists

The 3rd Sandra Burton Nieman Fellowship for Filipino Journalists is inviting applications for the year 2015 – 2016. Nieman Fellows are expected to do academic work at Harvard University, USA for two semesters, during which time they may not do professional work and should have obtained clearance from their employers, if applicable.

Smithsonian Magazine’s 2014 Photo Contest

The Smithsonian magazine is accepting entries for its 12th Smithsonian Photo Contest. Photojournalists and amateur photographers worldwide may join.

Interested entrants may submit a photo in any of the following categories: The Natural World, Travel, People, The American Experience, Altered Images and Mobile Photos.

All images submitted must have been taken since 1 January 2012. Photographs of persons who are recognizable must be accompanied with a model release from the subject or from the subject’s guardians in case the subject is a minor. A sample model release form can be downloaded at the Smithsonian website.

Participants must register online at the Smithsonian photo contest page to submit an entry.

Deadline is on 29 November 2014.
