Earth Journalism Scholars Program
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and the University of California-Berkeley’s (UCB) Graduate School of Journalism are accepting applications for the Earth Journalism Scholars Program.
The Earth Journalism Scholars Program is open to “a foreign mid-career journalist who has shown dedication and skill in covering environmental issues.” All journalists with at least five years of experience in the field may apply for the scholarship.
Interested applicants must register at the Earth Journalism website to apply. Applicants must fill in the application form in the website and upload a letter of reference and work samples along with the form.
The selected scholar will have the opportunity to attend a semester-long scholarship in UCB for the spring semester of 2015. Travel, lodging and tuition expenses will be covered by the scholarship. The scholar will also receive a stipend for living costs.
Deadline for application is on July 27.

Richard Beeston Bursary 2014
Richard Beeston Bursary 2014, in association with The Times of London is accepting applications for a foreign correspondent fellowship.
The Richard Beeston Bursary aims to find “an aspiring foreign correspondent to spend six weeks abroad, researching and reporting on a foreign news story for The Times.” All journalists around the world with a good command of the English language may apply.
Interested applicants should submit a resume; a journalistic referee; five samples of published works; a detailed outline of the proposed destination of travel and the broad nature of the story on which you are intending to report and write; and, an explanation of why you would benefit from this fellowship. All the requirements must be submitted via email for the attention of Natasha Fairweather at [email protected].
The chosen fellow will receive an award of £6,000.
Deadline for application is on September 29.
The fellowship was created in honor of The Times foreign editor Richard Beeson who died of cancer in May 2013 at the age of 50.

Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship on conflict and violence reporting
The Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma, a project of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, is accepting applications for fellowships on conflict and violence reporting.
The Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship aims to “deepen knowledge of emotional trauma and psychological injury, and improve reporting on violence, conflict and tragedy” among journalists.
All print, broadcast and online journalists with at least five years of experience may apply for weeklong fellowship.
Chosen fellows will have a chance to attend an intensive program at Columbia University in New York City and talk to experts and fellow journalists on “issues of ethics, craft and other aspects of professional practice” in the field of conflict, violence and trauma reporting.
Interested applicants must fill out the application form at the Dart Center website. A letter of interest and a resume; at least two relevant work samples; and, at least two letters of recommendations must also be uploaded in the website.
All applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm EST on October 1.
