WSJ fellowship applications now open
Philippine-based journalists interested in business reporting may avail of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Asia Fellowship at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Other Asian-based journalists are also welcome to apply.
Full-time journalists working for at least one year in an English-language print or electronic publication may apply for the fellowships, which focus on business and economic reporting.
The program runs for three semesters and combines business reporting subjects with actual subjects in business administration at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. A copy of the curriculum may be accessed here.
The program will start in September 2011 and will end in December 2012. The WSJ will grant fellowships for 15 students.
Applicants must submit a one-page resume; three to five published articles, preferably on business and financial topics; a 200 to 300-word description of an article the applicant wishes to pursue on any topic related to business or the economy; a 1000-word essay, transcript of records from the University the applicant has attended; Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score reports (if any), and a list of three people who can recommend the applicant, including their contact information.
