SEAPA opens applications for 2011 fellowships

The Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) will accept applications to its 2011 Journalism Fellowship Program until April 22, 2011.

The fellowship is open to regular or freelance print, broadcast or online journalists from countries that are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and with at least five years work experience. Applicants should have a background in writing in-depth stories on social, political or economic issues.

Applicants should submit an accomplished application form with a 600-word essay introducing themselves and describing their story idea on this year’s theme: “Gearing up for a Community in 2015: How Free is the Flow of Information in ASEAN.”

They should also submit a resume, two sample works published in 2010 and two reference letters, one of these from their immediate superior. The fellowship program will run from June 13 to July 15, 2011. The orientation and briefing will be held at Jakarta, Indonesia.
