More threats and attacks vs journalists
The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines raises alarm over reports on the military ban against Philippine Daily Inquirer correspondent Julie Alipala from covering news events in Mindanao, particularly in the province of Basilan.
The ban was ordered following reports that The Philippine Star columnist Jarius Bondoc has received death threats for his exposé on the controversial $330-million contract for the government’s national broadband network project with China’s ZTE Corp.
