CIFOR environmental workshop for journalists
The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is accepting applications for its environmental workshop for journalists in Southeast Asia.
The CIFOR workshop will provide journalists the opportunity to attend a residential workshop on “Reporting on Forest in Southeast Asia” and to explore issues on coastal forests, illegal logging, food security, and climate change. Participants will have a chance to interview leading scientists, policy makers and science communicators on the current state of the environment especially the forests of Southeast Asia.
All print, broadcast and online journalists may apply. Interested participants must be nationals of an ASEAN member country and must have at least two years’ experience in the field.
Applicants may submit a resume, three sample works and a letter of support from their editor along with the completed application form through email at m.kovacevic@cgiar.org.
Deadline of application is on March 3.

International Media Studies scholarship program
DW Akademie is accepting applications for the International Media Studies (IMS) program in Bonn, Germany.
The Akademie’s IMS program is a “bilingual curriculum which combines the disciplines media and development, journalism, communications and media management.” The program provides scholars with research, lectures and practical experience in the different media disciplines.
Young journalists, media managers and other media professionals may apply.
Interested applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a media- related course and at least one year of professional experience in the field. Applicants must also have a good command of English and German.
A total of ten full scholarships are available for applicants from Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe or Africa. The scholarship will cover tuition fees and travel costs and includes a monthly stipend of EUR750.
Deadline for application is on March 31.

10th Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship
The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is accepting applications for the 10th Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship.
The Fellowship honors woman journalists in any part of the world whose work is focused on human rights and social justice issues. All print, broadcast, online and freelance women journalists may apply for the seven month-long fellowship.
The chosen fellow will have the opportunity to go to Boston and New York and to study at  the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for International Studies and to work for media outlets in the US including The Boston Globe and The New York Times.
A stipend and expenses including airfare, housing and health insurance will be provided for the chosen fellow.
Interested applicants must have a minimum of three years’ experience in the field. Non-native English speakers must have excellent written and oral English communication skills.
The deadline for applications is April 11.
