Dagupan City in the province of Pangasinan is about 200 kilometers north of Metro Manila.

Police arrested Rolando Lim on Wednesday afternoon for the shooting of dwIZ radio commentator Orlando “Orly” Navarro last 26 August 2014. He was charged with frustrated murder at the Dagupan City Regional Trial Court. Navarro and other witnesses positively identified Lim as the shooter, the police said.

Hours after the shooting, Navarro told the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines that the motive for the attempt to kill him might have been his recent exposes on illegal drugs in their village.
