Radio Station Shut Down in Roxas City

CMFR/PHILIPPINES – A radio station in Roxas City was closed by the city government on 3 June 2019 due to its alleged failure to submit operations requirements. Roxas City in Capiz province is 387 kilometers south of Manila.
Members of the Roxas City Licensing Division, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) served the closure order on dyCL 97.7 FM Radyo Todo Capiz.
In a report on the Bombo Radyo Roxas website, City Business Affairs consultant Carmen Andrade said that the radio station had failed to submit to the city a permit to operate from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) despite the extension period given them. According to Andrade the closure order was issued April 10 but the station asked that it be allowed to comply with the requirements not later than May 31.
Radyo Todo FM announced on its Facebook page that the station is temporarily off air because they are “transferring to another location.”
Radyo Todo FM started in 2016 and promised to provide “top stories, uncompromising commentaries, incisive interviews, developmental issues, updates on local and national politics and governance,” among others.
