He was also a journalism resource speaker. In 2007, he and his colleagues went to the Mountain Province to teach elementary and high school students basic campus journalism.

In a tribute to Amor’s death, UP Baguio College of Arts and Communication Dean Anna Christie Torres said: “Amer had an almost insatiable desire for adventure. He loved to travel — short trips, long trips, side trips, planned or spur-of-the-moment, solo or with others, he indulged in all of them. We now send him off on his solo flight in an exuberant fashion that is truly characteristic of our dearest Juanderkid.”

Arjay Arellano, former UP Baguio instructor and a friend of Amor, said: “He loved teaching, traveling, and writing. He would write not only about the places he went to but also about the people he met on the travel. He has eyes for important details and he took all the experiences he had to his class. If he had his way, he would be practicing journalism. His forte was environmental reporting.”

Amor is survived by his parents and six siblings.
