Covering a word war
SUN.STAR CEBU looked at the bigger picture in the word war between Cebu City south district congressional candidate Jonathan Guardo and the ruling party Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK).
Guardo has accused BO-PK of illegally using government employees in the campaign.
Sun.Star went beyond the usual quotes in its reportage and sought the opinion of authorities on the issue of using government resources during election campaigns. It cited civil service provisions, actions taken by the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas, and statements of the Commission on Elections on the case.
