Exam leak
Jeers to The Manila Times for its biased and unsubstantiated banner story on the alleged bar exams leakage.
In a Nov. 25 report, the Times quoted unidentified sources as saying that a piece of paper with leaked questions was left in an exam room supposedly by an Ateneo de Manila University fraternity member. One of the Times sources belonged to the rival fraternity.
The report provided context on the history of leaks during bar exams, but the report did not get the side of the Supreme Court and other parties involved.
The report did not provide substantial evidence to support the claim of its unidentified sources either. And almost half of the report was on the schedule of the exam components.
The Times tried to verify with the high court if there is a certain Jess Mundo, who was said to have gotten hold of the test questions, taking the exams, but was unable to get the information because the names of the examinees are revealed only in the exam results.
The Times reported the next day the side of the high court on the alleged leakage, which the SC denied. There was not a single quote from the fraternity which the report said had obtained the test questions.
