Developing Asia Journalism Awards 2013
The Developing Asia Journalism Awards (DAJA) 2013 is now open for the submission of entries.
The DAJA 2013 is an annual journalism competition sponsored by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) which aims to honor journalists from developing countries in Asia and the Pacific. The theme for this year’s awards is “Regionalism in Asia vs. Globalization.”
Journalists  from an ADBI developing member country are eligible for the awards.
Applicants are required to register online at http://www.adbi.org/daja.awards/register.php to submit entries. Entries should be newly written articles or articles published after 1 January 2013. All submission should be in English, but translations of published articles in other languages will also be accepted.
All entries should be in on or before September 30.

Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program
The Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program is now accepting applicants.
The Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program brings together a scholarly community of individuals who are “pursu(ing) advanced work across a wide range of academic disciplines, professions and creative arts.” The program seeks fellows in different fields for residence at Radcliffe Institute where they will pursue an independent project.
Journalism professionals must have worked in the field for at least five years to be eligible for the program.
The program includes a stipend of up to US$70,000 for one year plus additional funds for project expenses. The fellowship starts from September 2014 to May 2015.
The applications are judged on the basis of the significance and quality of the proposed project and the applicant’s record of achievements. The deadline for applications is on October 1.

Science Journalism Grants
The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is offering grants in science journalism.
HITS, a private, nonprofit research institute, is accepting applications for its  “Journalist in Residence” program.
The program provides fellows a monthly stipend of EUR€5,000 for a six- month stay, and  enables fellows “to deal in depth with different research topics without the pressure of daily business.”
Interested applicants must submit  proof of journalistic work in the area of science and technology, a presentation in key areas of journalistic work, and a rough plan for the stay; a CV;  up to five relevant work samples; and a letter of recommendation from their  editors. Applications may be submitted through email at saueressig@h-its.org.
Applicants are expected to have good written and oral English communication skills. At least basic knowledge of German is recommended.
All application should be in on or before September 15.
