Alfredo Rosario, 87
VETERAN JOURNALIST Alfredo Rosario died Sunday, March 20. He was 87.
Rosario, who would have turned 88 on March 24, died in the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City. He was a writer and editor for several pre-martial law newspapers including the Philippines Herald and the Evening News. He also  worked for the Philippine News Service (“Veteran journalist Fred Rosario writes 30,” Tribune.net, March 23, 2016 ), and later, for the Times Journal during the martial law years..
During that same period Rosario  joined the Ministry of Labor and eventually became  Director of the Information and Publication Service of the ministry. He was also the editor of the Ministry’s newsletter, Philippine Labor.
Rosario was later appointed labor attaché to various countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Jordan, Iraq, and Libya. His last newspaper stint was as opinion editor of the Manila Times, where he also wrote the column “Reflections” (“Veteran journalist Fred Rosario; 87,” Philippine Daily Inquirer, March 23, 2016).
His remains lie in the Truth Chapel, Manila Memorial Homes, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. He is survived by his children.
