GMA-7 REPORTER, host and director Cesar Apolinario passed away on December 13, 2019. He was 46.

In August this year, he was diagnosed with lymphoma or cancer of the lymphatic system.

Apolinario began his career in GMA-7 in 1999 as a cameraman-researcher for I-Witness after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas. He went on to become a TV reporter and later made his mark with documentaries on programs like I-Witness, Brigada and Born to Be Wild. Apolinario would go on to host the magazine show I-Juander which told the stories of ordinary Filipinos. He also worked at RPN Channel-9 (now CNN Philippines) as part-time writer, reporter and cameraman.

The late journalist also ventured into film directing. In 2007, Apolinario directed the movie “Banal”, his debut film and an official entry into the Metro Manila Film Festival in the same year for which he won the Best Director award. He directed two more films, namely “Puntod” in 2009 and “Dance of the Steel Bars” in 2013.

He is survived by his wife Joy and their children.
