GMA Network launches Batangas Station, Southern Tagalog newscast

A MOVE two years in the making, media giant GMA Network simultaneously launched its newest regional TV station in Batangas, GMA Batangas Regional TV, the 11th of its kind, and its 7th flagship regional newscast, “GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog” on February 14, 2022.
The expansion was announced on February 11, 2022, and publicized on the network’s national newscast “24 Oras” that same evening. In an interview, Oliver Amoroso, Head of Regional TV and Synergy said that they “strengthened” GMA Regional TV because they understand the importance of local news.
Station Manager Darlene Mangubat shared that GMA Batangas would be reporting “the most important events in the community in a balanced and truthful way,” she said in Filipino.
Mangubat added that the station’s reach extends to at least 11 cities and 54 municipalities in the Southern Tagalog region.
GMA Batangas Regional TV is on free TV operating through D12-ZB TV, Channel 12 for analog, and on the network’s GMA Affordabox. Digitally, the station can be watched on Channel 32.
The newscast “GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog” airs weekdays at 5:00 pm and is anchored by Ivy Saunar-Gasang and Ace Medrano. The newscast is also available on GMA Pinoy TV for viewers abroad.
