Call for Papers: International Symposium on Online Journalism
The University of Texas is now accepting full paper submissions to the 2016 International Symposium on Online Journalism.
This conference “mixes academic research and industry-oriented panel discussions, with scholars from universities around the world and journalists and executives representing some of the most important media and news organizations from around the globe.”
Submitted papers must discuss original research on online journalism topics such as changes in news content and presentation, business models for digital journalism, shifting roles of journalists and readers, impact of mobile technology on journalism, and the legal and ethical implications of globally accessible journalism. Papers must not have been presented in previous conferences.
Authors are also encouraged to include in their submissions multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and audio files.
Papers accepted to the symposium will be published in the #ISOJ, the official journal of the International Symposium on Online Journalism. Multimedia content will be featured in the multimedia journal website.
Deadline for submission of entries is on January 8, 2016, 10 pm Central Standard Time. For more information, visit this page.
Endometriosis Association Media Excellence Awards
The Endometriosis Association based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is hosting the Media Excellence Awards for outstanding reporting on endometriosis, a hormone and immune system disease affecting 89 million women worldwide.
Journalists and writers who have published an article or produced a program about endometriosis from January 1 to December 31, 2015 are qualified to join.
Four $1,000 cash prizes will be awarded to winners in the following categories: 1) daily and weekly newspapers, 2) broadcast news (TV or radio), 3) magazines, and 4) medical or scientific publications.
