Science and Statistics Courses for Journalists

The Royal Statistical Society of the United Kingdom is offering two free online courses for journalists using science and statistics in their reports.

“Science for Journalists” is about the process of finding scientific news, the right questions to  ask, and the  experts to be interviewed for these stories. “Statistics for Journalists” helps reporting on basic statistics used in many reports such as surveys, polls, and percentages. These courses are based on presentations developed through the RSS Science Journalism Program developed and delivered by volunteers to journalists and journalism students across the UK within the last five years.

The courses feature freely accessible presentations, exercises and other resources, and will take 20-30 minutes each to accomplish. For more information, visit this page.
