NCCA Gender and Development Contest 2015
The Gender and Focal Point System (GFPS) of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts is now accepting entries for its Gender and Development Competition.
There are three categories: Short Film Documentary, Photography, and Essay Writing. Entries must adhere to the theme, âFilipino Women as Culture Bearersâ.
Interested parties must submit their entries and other documentary requirements to the NCCA Gender Focal Point System Secretariat c/o Ms. Bibsy Cadiz, NCCA Building, 633 General Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila 1002 not later than September 15 for the Photography and Essay Writing categories, and not later than October 15 for the Short Film Documentary category.
Winners will be invited to receive their recognition and attend the public screening and opening of the photo exhibit of the winning entries at the NCCA Building on November 19. For more information, visit this page.
Earth Journalism Network Climate Change Story Grants
Journalists and media practitioners who have a track record of reporting on climate change and other environmental issues are invited to apply for story grants sponsored by the Earth Journalism Network (EJN).
EJN accepts story ideas that address gender, health, poverty, youth, indigenous peoples, and extreme weather. The vulnerability of people to the impact of climate change should be a key feature in the proposals.
Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 will be offered based on the proposal and method of coverage. Selected stories  will be published ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) to be held in December 2015.
