Second Asian Investigative Journalism Conference
Journalists working in developing and transitioning countries in Asia are invited to apply for a fellowship to attend Uncovering Asia: The Second Asian Investigative Journalism Conference to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on September 23-25.
Uncovering Asia, a biennial event, focuses on providing hands-on experience and skills training to journalists. The three-day conference this year aims to bring together top investigative reporters, data journalists, and media law and security experts from across Asia and around the world.
More than 30 fellowships are available both for established and budding journalists with at least three years of experience. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in investigative or data journalism and should be able to communicate in English.
Ten fellowships are reserved for data journalists. Another five fellowships will be granted to those engaged in the use of advanced investigative techniques and production. Once they return to their home countries, the recipients of grants are expected to produce a story or to present their learnings in the conference to help spread investigative journalism worldwide.
Applications must be submitted on or before May 15. For more information, visit this page.
