Foreign journalist, Filipino crew missing in Jolo


CMFR/ Philippines – A three-man news team from a foreign television network has been missing since 12 June 2012 in Jolo, Sulu, an alleged stronghold of the kidnap for ransom group Abu Sayyaf. Jolo, Sulu is approximately 951 kilometers south of Manila.

Local electric cooperative exec files libel charges against correspondent


The Masbate City Prosecutor’s Office has recommended the filing of libel charges against a journalist accused of maligning an official of the provincial electrical cooperative. The journalist claimed he has not been informed that a libel complaint had been filed against him at the prosecutor’s office.

Threats against Mati-based broadcaster continue
