Inquirer Names New Associate Publisher

Javellana will be management’s senior representative in the editorial group and will have post-oversight responsibility for the content, quality, style and image of the newspaper, the management of editorial operations and output, the editorial reputation of the Inquirer, and its collaboration with the editorial and business groups.
Javellana began her career with the Inquirer in May 1989 as a supplements writer in the advertising division. She later covered the police, military, environment, local governments, courts and foreign affairs beats, the House of Representatives, the Senate and Malacañang under four post-EDSA presidents. She was tapped to head the Inquirer Central Desk in 2015. As director she oversaw and planned the news coverage of the Inquirer’s print, online, broadcast and social media platforms.
Javellana has also received prestigious awards and recognition, including the Jaime V. Ongpin Awards for Investigative Journalism,
