FILIPINO JOURNALISTS working for a print media outfit are invited to send entries to the Holcim-Philippine Press Institute Journalism Awards for Sustainable Construction (JASCOR).

The competition aims to recognize stories that discuss the contribution of the construction industry to achieving inclusive growth and sustainability. The topics of such stories may include current policies, projects and initiatives that cover the construction sector. These must have been published from August 2015 to September 2016.

There are two categories: the National Newspaper category and the Community Newspaper category. Five finalists will be selected for each category, the winner receiving a cash prize of PHP 50,000 and a plaque, and the four other finalists taking home PHP 10,000 each.

A Merit Award for Sustainable Construction Reporting and a cash prize of PHP 75,000 will be given to the newspaper which has the most number of entries that make it to the shortlist of finalists.

The winners will be awarded in a ceremony to be held in October 2016.

Entries must be submitted to the Philippine Press Institute office and must be postmarked not later than July 31, 2016. For more details, visit the JASCOR page.
