The country’s six most active volcanoes, which include Mayon and Bulusan, are monitored by the network (click here).
Bulatlat, in its July 2-8 issue, looked into a bill seeking to reinstate the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). Youth groups see the bill as a possible source of corruption for ROTC officials and a counter-insurgency arm for the military (“ROTC Revival to Boost Anti-Insurgency Drive?”).

While the press generally stopped reporting on Radyo Cagayano after the initial reports on the July 2 razing of the station, Bulatlat had a follow-up in its July 9-15 issue. The online site featured how the staff of the non-profit community radio station, which military elements accused of being a radio station of the communist New People’s Army, has been trying to rebuild the station (“The Radio station the farmers built: Radyo Cagayano: Burned But Not Silenced”).
