2016 Lucas Dolega Award

Professional freelance photographers from all over the world are encouraged to apply for the fifth Lucas Dolega Award, which recognizes a photographer who often works in dangerous or difficult conditions in pursuit of democracy and freedom of information.

The award is named in honor of photojournalist Lucas Dolega, who died while covering the 2010 Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia.

Participants must submit a selection of 10 to 20 photos documenting conflict, disasters and their consequences on civil populations. Coverage of any news event relevant to the defense of freedom and democracy are also qualified.

The winner will be awarded an endowment of 10,000 Euro, an exhibition of his or her photographic work in Paris, and publication in the Reporters Without Borders album.

UNICEF Voices of Youth Blogging Internship

Voices of Youth, UNICEF’s online youth community, is looking for 30-40 aspiring writers for its three-month remote blogging internship program.

Interested applicants must be between 14 and 24 years old, fluent in written English, and willing to develop their writing, research and critical thinking skills to better engage young people in a global dialogue. VOY Community Managers will supervise the internship and provide tips on good blog-writing.

A certificate of merit will be issued by the UNICEF upon completion of the internship.
