Global Shining Light Award – Global Investigative Journalism Network
The Global Investigative Journalism Network is accepting applications to the Global Shining Light Award, which recognizes “investigative journalism in a developing or transitioning country, done under threat, duress, or in the direst of conditions.”
Individual journalists, journalist teams, and media outlets are encouraged to send investigative reports published or aired between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014. The reports must cover issues of wrongdoing, corruption, and other stories that reveal threats to the common good in a developing country.
The winner will receive an honorary plaque, a cash prize of 1,000 US dollars, and a trip to the Global Investigative Journalism Conference to be held in Norway from October 8 to 11 this year.

3rd PAGCOR National Photography Competition
Professional and amateur photographers are invited to send their entries to the 3rd PAGCOR (Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation) National Photography Competition.
Filipino nationals at least 18 years of age are welcome to join the competition. Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of two full-color digital photographs taken using conventional or mobile device cameras. The photographs must adhere to the theme “Tatak Pinoy” and should depict positive and desirable images featuring Filipino culture.
A cash prize of PhP 75,000 will be awarded to the 12 grand prize winners from the Conventional category and PhP 30,000 will be given to the 12 grand prize winners from the Mobile category. All 24 winners will receive trophies and their entries will be featured in the agency’s 2016 calendar. Special and consolation prizes will also be given.
