Marlow, 84

AMERICAN JOURNALIST Jess Marlow died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease last August 3. He was 84.

Marlow worked for KCBS-TV (Channel 2) and KNBC-TV (Channel 4) for more than 40 years. (Jess Marlow, longtime Los Angeles newsman, dies at 84, Daily News)

He was a reporter for KNBC in 1966 and became an anchor in 1968. He co-anchored the 5 p.m. news with Tom Snyder and the 11 p.m. news with Tom Brokaw.

In a statement on Marlow’s death, former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw said: “Jess Marlow was a first-rate journalist and a beloved figure in the newsroom.
