Raul Valino, 71

VETERAN FILIPINO journalist Raul Bernardo Valino passed away Wednesday, December 9. He was 71.

Valino’s long career in journalism includes various stints in different publications. He was the business section editor of the defunct Times Journal, editor of the Manila Chronicle, a deskman of the Manila Bulletin, and a columnist of the Business Mirror. Valino’s interment is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, at the Manila Memorial Park, Sucat, Parañaque City. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Jimmy Walker, 78

Irish journalist and author Jimmy Walker died Tuesday, December 15. He was 78.

Walker had been covering sports for the Belfast Telegraph where he also served as Deputy Sports Editor. He joined the Telegraph in 1963 and worked for the newspaper until his retirement in 1994.

Walker also authored the books “Just Joey” and “”Robert Dunlop: Life and Times of a Legend” about racers Joey and Robert Dunlop.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, grandson, and brother.
