Ampatuan Massacre commemoration on PJR Reports’ November-December issue
Nov. 23, 2010 marked the first year since what has been known as the single worst case of political violence against Filipino journalists in recent years, the Ampatuan Massacre. The media community, including local and foreign journalists and students of the media, gathered at the historic Chino Roces (Mendiola) bridge in Manila to commemorate the massacre.
The trial for the murder of 58 people, including 32 journalists and media workers is ongoing, but is rather moving slowly.
The main story for PJR Reports‘ November-December issue tracked down the massacre case’s progress in summary. It also reflected the hopes of the victims and the media community that justice will finally be served. See the full report here.
